We provide clean, tidy bathrooms, with separate showers for men and women. 20 rooms/55 beds. Here, you won't have to share with people you don't know. If you have a dog, it is welcome to stay in your room (special dog rooms).

We also provide weekly rentals of brand new luxury apartments with panoramic views of Hardangerjøkulen.
At Fagerheim we have a mountain café during the Easter holidays and over the summer. You will be served decent, hearty, well-made food, with no frills. We made good use of what nature has to offer and our meals include trout from the surrounding waters, as well as game, mushrooms and berries from nature's larder. You may not be able to choose from a ten-course menu, but we guarantee a good filling meal of traditional food that tastes great. We are fully licensed, so that you can sup on a well-deserved beer, a glass of wine or perhaps a little snaps after your outing.
You can sign up for a guided walk or trout fishing in the summer.
Dogsled adventure at Hardangervidda during the winter 2013
The hosts of Fagerheim Fjellstugu are the most winning norwegian couple in long distance races for dogs in Norway. They have both won the 1000 km Finnmarksløpet. Inger-Marie twice (2009 and 2012) and Ralph once (2010). Join them and their fantastic dogs for a half day or a full day dogsledding experience. You will drive your own dog team with 4 - 6 well trained Alaskan Huskies! If you are really interested, you can also join a 5-day dog expedition on the Hardangervidda driving your "own" dog team!
Our expeditions are designed to be suitable for both experienced mushers and for first timers. We usually use four to six-dog teams, although this is reviewed to suit individual mushers. We avoid assistance from snow mobile. All your equipment is on the sleds.
The weather is very changeable at Hardangervidda. You can expect variations from bright blue skies with the sun dazzling to horizontal snow blizzards with white all around. On the tour, the nights will be in cabins and mountain lodges. The route will be adapted to the given conditions as the weather could be unpredictable. This is the real way to go dog sledding.
The tour provide interesting experiences for outdoor people who are looking for something special. We go far off the beaten track, breaking our own trail, using the freedom that sled dogs give. The mountains' diversity and unpredictable snow conditions make it necessary to require good physical shape from the participants on this tour. The route will be adapted to the given conditions.
Detailed program Husky Adventure - Hardangervidda
Day 1, Sunday: Arrival with bus from Oslo Gardermoen Airport in the afternoon. Program start with dinner. Your guide will have the first briefing regarding the tour.
Day 2, Monday: The morning is spent providing you with snowsuits, boots and other equipment. Organizing the teams of huskies and learning the basics of caring for your team and driving the sleds. We examine your own equipment and help you pack for the tour. After a nice lunch, you will with your "own" dogteam, set the compass south and set out on the mountain plateau It's for sure a fascinating landscape, bare and windswept. The first day we go to a cosy cabin called Ribbohei.
Day 3, Tuesday: We break our own trail westwards to Sandhaug and Litlos - heading for the well known mountain Hårteigen, raising up in the west. It's a wild and extremely fascinating mountain landscape. By now mushers and the huskies have usually got to know each other’s ways and we are able to do some kilometers. Hopefully we will reach Torehytten, which has a mindblowing view to the mountain Hårteigen.
Day 4, Wednesday: We go eastwards to Lægeret, our small very charming private cabin - a jewel located hidden in the middle of Hardangervidda. We will do some great ice fishing. We cross large lakes on our way back home and the view is endless in all directions. Our cabin "Lægeret" is a "jewel" located right in the middle of nowhere on the plateau. It's an old place with lots of history, which will be told during the evening. Some of the group will sleep in a warmed up tent on beds this night as there are only 5 beds in the small cabin.
Day 5, Thursday: We go back north to Fagerheim and we can see the beautiful glacier Hardangerjøkulen when we are heading back home. Back home at Fagerheim we care for our hardworking dogs and after that a nice shower and our final dinner together. You will have some time just to relax in front of our cosy fire place.
